Where are all the heroes?

They keep their mouths shut if they know what's good for them. It has become standard operating procedure to lift up our heroes and then to tear them down. So I am not too surprised at how the media is attempting to castigate Ashley Smith for her exceptional handling of Brian Nichols which saved her life and the lives of many others.

I am, however, surprised that it took only two days before the media onslaught.

It appears that many in the media are suspicious of Ms. Smith's method of disarming Brian Nichols because she did not display the appropriate anger toward him for his murderous rampage. However a cursory review of negotiation 101 validates that Ms. Smith did a expert job without any formal training. Go figure!
