SAM'S CLUB TOLD EMPLOYEE TO REMOVE T-SHIRT WITH THE PRESIDENT'S IMAGE

This is shameful.

He said he bought another shirt and wore it over the Obama T-shirt, but he also looked up the company's policy.

According to the Sam's Club dress code, clothes must be neat, clean and without holes or ragged edges, clothes must fit well and not be too tight and pants must fit properly.

One thing specified about T-shirts in the store's dress code is that "associates may wear solid color T-shirts and denim shirts with logos as long as they do not contain messages that are offensive, crude or otherwise inappropriate."

Was it appropriate for the supervisor at the Sam's Club in Jacksonville, Florida to demand the removal of this worker's t-shirt with the president's image on it?

Was this a violation of the gentleman's first amendment right to of freedom speech?

It should to be interesting to watch the country grapple with the other first amendment violations that are bound to occur, as Americans of all stripes deal with the ramifications of the first citizen of African descent elected by the people to lead the country as president.

Like many journalists in Washington, I've followed the Libby case closely. It grew out of the leak in 2003 of the name of a CIA official, Valerie Plame, to columnist Robert Novak. Libby was not the leaker. Then deputy secretary of state Richard Armitage was. At his trial, Libby was acquitted of the one count that
dealt with an alleged leak to a reporter.

Anybody remember Richard Armitage was the leaker? Do the right thing Mr. Bush.

Digital TV Transition Program Runs Out of Money

Good. A billion dollars should have never been spent to provide coupons for citizens without a converter box.

In letters to members of Congress, President Bush, and President-elect Obama, Consumers Union pointed to the fact that the government program that subsidizes crucial TV converter boxes has run out of money, and hundreds of thousands of affected consumers are now on waiting lists for coupons.

If any American hasn't figured out that the broadcasting community is switching its signal from analog to digital, then they don't need to watch television. Go read a book .... and by the way, help your kids with their homework! Consumer's Union, are you out of your damn mind?

Not known for her friendly manner, Sonja Kohn, a Madoff associate, has even less friends...

"With an aggressive style that stood out in the staid world of Austrian banking even more than her bouffant red wig, Sonja Kohn made few friends gathering billions for Bernard Madoff from wealthy investors in Russia and across Europe.

Now, she has even fewer. Kohn has dropped out of sight, leaving the firm she founded, Bank Medici, in the hands of the Austrian regulators, who took it over last week."

Kohn's clients lost $2.1 billion dollars in the Madoff investment scam.
