Obama extended his hand on the Senate floor:

McCain shook it, but with a “go away” look that no one could miss. He tried his best not to even look at Obama.

Finally, with a tight smile, McCain managed a greeting: “Good to see you.”

This latest episode takes me back to last Friday's debate. John McCain would not look at Barack Obama. At first, I couldn't understand the body language. Was this fear? Was he just being rude? Was he ashamed of his recent blotching of the Rescue bill? The body language experts all say something different. But one thing is clear, McCain's old friend, anger, has reared its ugly head and Obama isn't backing down.

If McCain cannot treat a fellow Senator with more respect than this, he just may not have the diplomatic skill set to represent the United States against friend and foe alike.
