Texas governor plans "virtual" border patrol

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Reuters) - Texas Gov. Rick Perry unveiled plans on Thursday to place hundreds of surveillance cameras along the Rio Grande and stream the images to the Internet so computer users everywhere can help patrol the U.S.-Mexico border.

Speaking to a gathering of sheriffs from border counties, Perry said virtual border patrollers spotting illegal immigrants would be able to call a toll-free phone number to report them to Texas authorities.

"A stronger border is what Americans want and it's what our security demands and that is what Texas is going to deliver," he said.

The cameras, which would cost $5 million to install along the sta…

ZARQAWI PSYCHOLOGICAL AUTOPSY HITS HIGH GEAR!

Image
As the hopes for freedom raise in Iraq, the complete story of Zarqawi's demise has yet been told to us. Here's something that I found at Live Science.com:

Zarqawi: Hit via Satellite

Satellite technology was used to take out terrorist leader Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi, head of al-Qaeda in Iraq. Late Friday, Air Force Space Command let it be known that “space combat effects” provided the upper-hand in Zarqawi’s death.

A Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite-aided GBU-38 Joint Direct Attack Munition was one of the two munitions used in the bombing of Zarqawi’s last safe house.

“Once again, GPS-aided munitions played a significant role in the success of an important operation,” said Brig. Gen. Donald Alston, Director of Air and Space Operations, Air Force Space Command in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

“When you’re after an elusive, high-value target, you’ve got to make every shot count,” Alston noted. “GPS provides the precision timing and navigation absolutely instrumental in both protect…

CYNTHIA MCKINNEY WATCH

Image
Well it looks like crazy Cynthia has a chance of getting away with striking a US Capitol Officer. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution files this report:

Washington – The grand jury investigation of 4th District Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney enters its third month today with no hint from the federal prosecutor about how much longer it will take to settle a case that legal experts said should have been wrapped up in a matter of days.

McKinney was accused of striking a Capitol Hill police officer March 29, and the case was referred to the grand jury April 5. The drawn-out process of deciding whether she should be charged with assault has police fuming that the DeKalb County Democrat is getting preferential treatment from a politically motivated prosecutor.

"Right from the start this U.S. attorney has handled this case differently from every other case," said Chuck Canterbury, national president of the Fraternal Order of Police. "And it's because she is a sitting congresswo…

ARE HEROES CELEBRATED IN ATLANTA?

Image
On Monday night after 11:00 pm in Atlanta, Georgia, an ex-marine was walking home from work at a midtown Atlanta restaurant and was approached by five teens. The teenagers flashed two shotguns, a .38 and two pairs of brass knuckles. The waiter ran from his assailants shouting "fire" and the resident alertly called 911. The teens, however, pursued their prey and upon catching up to the waiter, a disjointed struggle for life and death ensued.

"I'm sorry the whole thing happened. I hate that this world has gotten to the point where it is predatory, " said a soft spoken Thomas Autry.

Atlanta Police have correctly proclaimed Mr. Autry's actions to be a lawful case of self defense. They report the teens were all from middle class families with well maintained lawns - two of the teen's mothers work as teachers in Atlanta schools.

Autry said that had learned to be alert at night from growing up in New York City, but it was a white cat crossing the street …
