Illegals Protest: The Definition of Poor Strategy: As we often explain, basic strategy calls for “winning without conflict.” If you push people, they naturally push back. Instead of trying to push opponents around, strategy looks for positions that isolate opponents by going them to build relationships with potential supporters. When it comes to good strategy, aggression is usually a form of self-indulgence. It satisfies your...

SCIENCE DISCOVERS THAT MEN AND WOMEN ARE NOT EQUAL.

Men and Women Really Do Think Differently
By Bjorn Carey

Men and women do think differently.

The brain is made primarily of gray matter and white matter. Men
think more with their gray matter, and women think more with white.

Psychology professor Richard Haier of the University of California,
Irvine led the research along with colleagues from the University of
New Mexico. Their findings show men have 6.5 times the amount of
gray matter compared with women who have 10 times the amount of
white matter compared to men.

". . . human evolution has created two different types of brains
designed for equally intelligent behavior," said Haier.

In human brains, gray matter represents information processing
centers, whereas white matter works to network these processing
centers.

This study may help in why men and women excel at different types of
tasks. For example, men tend to do better with tasks requiring more
localized processing, such as mathematics, while women are better at
integrating and assimi…

ARE YOU A THRILLIONAIRE OR A REALIONAIRE?

Image
From Slate:

Samuel has thus classified American millionaires into five archetypes, each with its own Passion Points, consuming habits, and style, as follows:

Thrillionaires. These are Thorstein Veblen's conspicuous consumers: generally insecure people who thirst for privacy and exclusivity, and for whom objects and a first-class lifestyle are a constant reminder of status and success. Well-known exemplar: Donald Trump. Natural habitat: Las Vegas; Boca Raton, Fla.

Coolionaires. These rich aesthetes may not work in creative fields, but they view creativity as the essence of life. They plow cash into fine art, cool architecture, and benefits at the New York Public Library. Money is, in Samuel's words, an "opportunity to express one's status as a person of refinement and sophistication." Well-known exemplars: disgraced opera impresario Alberto Vilar, money manager/utopian community developer Boykin Curry. Natural habitat: Manhattan below 14th Street.

THE POLITICS OF EMPATHY

Image
Did you know that Dr. Giacomo Rizzolatti of the University of Parma discovered a group of cells in the frontal brain that fires whenever you perform a gesture or specific action? The kicker is -– they also become activated when you watch someone else performing the same task!

Dr. Ramachandran, the Director of the Center for Brain and Cognition and professor with the Psychology Department at the University of California, San Diego, has hypothesized that these neurons may hold the key to our understanding a myriad of communication tasks. He writes in his essay on Mirror Neurons:

With knowledge of these neurons, you have the basis for understanding a host of very enigmatic aspects of the human mind: "mind reading" empathy, imitation learning, and even the evolution of language. Anytime you watch someone else doing something (or even starting to do something), the corresponding mirror neuron might fire in your brain, thereby allowing you to "read" and understand another&…

HOUSTON FED UP WITH KATRINA EVACUEES

Image
The Police Department of New Orleans is reporting a decrease in crime. You don't say? I wonder what the crime rate in Houston is?

Amid growing concern about the city's homicide rate and overburdened social services, a new poll finds Houstonians increasingly weary and wary of the 150,000 Louisiana evacuees who landed here after fleeing Hurricane Katrina.

Three-quarters of Harris County residents surveyed by Rice University sociologist Stephen Klineberg say the influx of Katrina evacuees, many of whom remain seven months after landfall, has put a "considerable strain" on the Houston community.

Additionally, two-thirds say evacuees bear responsibility for "a major increase in violent crime," and twice as many local residents believe Houston will be "worse off" rather than "better off" if most evacuees remain here permanently.

HAMAS LEADER, AL-QAIDA MONEY MAN MEET

Image
from UPI...

A leader of the Palestinian Hamas organization has met with an al-Qaida fundraiser in Yemen, the Jerusalem Post reported Friday.

The meeting, two weeks ago at a fundraising event by the Hamas office in Yemen, was between Khaled Marshaal and Sheikh Abd al-Majid al-Zindani, said by the United States to be a fundraiser for al-Qaida and a spiritual leader of Osama bin Laden.

The Jerusalem Post report said that at the event Zindani praised Hamas suicide bombers and urged people to donate money to the organization, whose political wing won recent Palestinian elections in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and now control the Palestinian Authority government.

BLACK BUSINESS OWNERS ON THE RISE

Image
The report, "Survey of Business Owners: Black-Owned Firms: 2002," says that between 1997 and 2002, the number of black-owned businesses in the United States rose 45 percent to 1.2 million, while the combined revenue increased 25 percent to $88.8 billion.

"It's encouraging to see not just the number but the sales and receipts of black-owned businesses are growing at such a robust rate, confirming that these firms are among the fastest growing segments of our economy," said Census Bureau Director Louis Kincannon.

HUMAN SACRIFICES ON GODLESS ALTARS

Image
Gary Gagliardi of Warrior Class Blog writes about the primitive altars at which we currently worship. They are the causes of all the suffering and destruction we see all over the globe...

Strategy is based on the idea that battles are won by building up positions rather than destroying enemies. The core of every strategic position is a philosophy of shared beliefs. Winning belief systems think that, as long as people are free, they can convert other people to their way of thinking. This makes freedom the only cause worth dying for. Losing belief systems think that they must kill others to eliminate freedom in order to maintain their belief system. In other words, losing belief systems require the sacrifice of human lives on the altar of their particular “greater good.”

THE PARABLE OF THE DEMOCRAT AND THE PREACHER

Image
One day, a Democrat looked around his plantation estate where he lived and decided he wanted a change. He thought he'’d enter politics and run for President.

The campaign would be long and difficult and the Democrat stopped to reconsider his decision. He couldn'’t see any way to win the election with just his constituents. So he ran to the local Kiwanis club and then to a rotary club, all the while the Democrat thought to himself, "this is no the way to win an election."

One Sunday, The Democrat saw a preacher of a black church on TV. He watched with amazement as the Preacher bellowed at his congregation for and hour or two and afterward all the people said, "“Amen!"” He said, "“I need to get this Preacher to help me get those people'’s votes. So he went to the Preacher and said Halloo, Mr. Preacher, "“would you be so kind as to ask your people to vote for me for President?"”

Well now, Mr. Democrat! The Preacher responded, "How do I …

THE NIGHTMARE OF CONDI

Image
from Dr. Jack Wheeler...

For a long time now, we've been telling you in To The Point that Dick Cheney will step down, Bush will appoint and the Senate will confirm Condi Rice as Vice President, that this will catapult her into being the Republican presidential nominee, and that she will be elected President of the United States in November 2008.

A Rice Presidency will destroy the Democrat Party. The Democrat Party depends on blacks living on the Victim Plantation. A Rice Presidency obliterates the myth of Racist America, and it is upon this myth the modern Democrat Party is built.

Democrats cannot get elected without 90% of the black vote. Rice would deny them this 90% and more. At most they would get 50-60% if that. Any and all chance of Democrats regaining substantial political power in America would be over. The entire power structure of the Democrat Party would be in ruins.

Remember the moral of the story is - the Democrats need all 90% of the black vote to stay in power. A small…

AMERICAN IDOL: Mandisa Says She's Not a Gay 'Advocate'

Image
from AP News...

Mandisa, a native of Antioch, Tenn., tells Advocate magazine, "Based on what I believe, I'm not an advocate for (being gay), so it's nothing I would take part in."

Still, she says in an interview in the magazine's Web site, she's "really upset" by speculation she endorses the ex-gay movement _ a collection of Christian groups that seek to alter sexual orientation. The speculation stemmed from comments she made on the "American Idol" Web site praising author and speaker Beth Moore, of Living Proof Ministries. Moore's Web site has links to groups such as Exodus International that discourage homosexuality.

"It broke my heart," Mandisa says. "I live my life by the value system that you treat others the way you want to be treated. I let love be my guide. I absolutely hate no one."

PRESIDENT BUSH: I LOVE POLITICS!

Image
As Michael Steele, the Senate Candidate for Maryland, adroitly distances himself from President Bush, the White House rewards Steele by sending Vice President Cheney to help Steele raise funds.

Don't you just love how the President plays politics with the Demo-Rats?

"When people start talking about linking me to the president I have one question for them: Who's running for the U.S. Senate? Michael Steele, not George Bush," the Republican said, answering a question about his stance on education.

Vice President Cheney says of Steele:

"Lt. Gov. Steele will be an asset to the Senate."

Tell them Dick.

Steele's response:

"I'm an asset to some people and I'm a threat to others," said Steele, who was in Baltimore to meet with 16 students enrolled in the Reginald Lewis High School after-school male mentoring program. "So I guess I'm in a good spot."

THE ECONOMY: IT'S ALL BAD NEWS, BABY!

Image
By JEANNINE AVERSA, AP Economics Writer

WASHINGTON - Employers, in a springtime hiring burst, boosted payrolls by a sizable 211,000 in March and pushed the nation's unemployment rate down to 4.7 percent.

The latest snapshot, released by the Labor Department on Friday, suggested that an accelerating economic expansion is putting companies in the hiring mood, brightening prospects for job seekers.

Hiring gains were fairly widespread. Construction, financial activities, education and health care and government were among the sectors posting payroll gains. That help to blunt job losses in manufacturing and in the transportation industries.

The unemployment rate, which dropped from February's 4.8 percent, ended up matching January's jobless rate, which was the lowest in 4 1/2 years.

Employment was stronger in March than economists were expecting. Before the release of the report, they were forecasting a gain of 190,000 jobs and they said they believed the overall civilian jobless r…

BOOKER T. WASHINGTON: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

"There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs -- partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs."

Millionaires are not always born. Most are made. Meet Arthur Blank, the former CEO of Home Depot and millionaire - many times over!

The Home Depot started with two words on an ordinary day in the spring of 1978: “You’re fired!” Arthur Blank and Bernie Marcus were unceremoniously fired from their positions at Handy Dan, a chain of home improvement stores, notwithstanding the fact that the two had built up Handy Dan to over $155 million in sales. “Bernie and I picked ourselves up, we mapped out Home Depot on a napkin in our favorite coffee shop. We had almost no capital," recalls Arthur.

Arthur Blank served as CEO of The Home Depot for 23 years and is now owner of the Atlanta Falcons. Arthur, along with his family, oversees the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, which has donated over a $100 million dollars to various charities.

CYNTHIA MCKINNEY: GUILTY, BUT BLACK!

Image
from WSBTV.com...

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Rep. Cynthia McKinney admits that she broke government rules by spending money to fly a celebrity to Atlanta.

Channel 2 Action News has uncovered documents showing McKinney, D-Ga., spent about $1,000 of taxpayer's money to fly singer Isaac Hayes to Georgia to help dedicate a new office in Atlanta.

The money came from a fund members of Congress are supposed to use for office supplies.

Using the money to pay for Hayes' airline ticket and hotel expenses is a violation of strict congressional rules. Those rules state that taxpayer money can only be used for "travel by Members, Members' employees and vendors. A vendor is an employee of a private company that provides maintenance and support for equipment and software..."

Watchdog groups call taxpayer-funded celebrity travel a blatant waste of taxpayer money.

McKinney staffers say they will reimburse the congressional fund for the cost of Hayes' flight and hotel room.
