Zimbabwe Elections: Food for Your Vote!

In Zimbabwe, food for votes considered "free and fair elections".

USA calls this practice "despicable". And you wonder why we are the leader of the world?

(Update: 4:37pm) Dictator for life expected to win easily. Try to shut me up, you evil bloodsucker. I live in a free country.

Atlanta Falcon Warrick Dunn Dedicates USO Center in Afghanistan

2005 NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year Warrick Dunn on tour with USO

The USO is opening its newest center in Afghanistan in early April, bringing to 123 the number of USO centers worldwide. The National Football League donated $250,000 to the USO last year for construction of the center, named in honor of Pat Tillman. A former player with the Arizona Cardinals and an Army Ranger, Tillman was killed during combat operations in Afghanistan in 2004.

Zimbabwe Elections: Mugabe the Monster!

In elections, that Robert Mugabe said will be as "free and fair elections" as any in the world, an opposition leader, Siyabonga Malandu, has come up missing.

Two British journalists were arrested in Zimbabwe today while interviewing voters.

Roman Catholic archbishop Pius Ncube of Bulawayo calls for a "non-violent mass popular uprising" if the ruling party wins the election by fraud.

Archibishop, you only use non-violent social change against someone of conscience. You do not attempt it against monsters. When going against vampires who obviously lack conscience, you only send your people to a slaughter. To this day, we still don't understand the teaching of Rev. Martin Luther King.

Non-Violent Social Change can only be used against a good people who have gone astray.

Newflash: SEVENTY-eight per cent of people who have died in Zimbabwe since 1980 are registered to vote and are expected to support Robert 'Monster' Mugabe in tomorrow's national poll.

Medical aspects of the persistent vegetative state

And now for the rest of the story:This consensus statement of the Multi-Society Task Force summarizes current knowledge of the medical aspects of the persistent vegetative state in adults and children. The vegetative state is a clinical condition of complete unawareness of the self and the environment, accompanied by sleep-wake cycles, with either complete or partial preservation of hypothalamic and brain-stem autonomic functions. In addition, patients in a vegetative state show no evidence of sustained, reproducible, purposeful, or voluntary behavioral responses to visual, auditory, tactile, or noxious stimuli; show no evidence of language comprehension or expression; have bowel and bladder incontinence; and have variably preserved cranial-nerve and spinal reflexes. We define persistent vegetative state as a vegetative state present one month after acute traumatic or nontraumatic brain injury or lasting for at least one month in patients with degenerative or metabolic disorders or de…

Persistent Vegetative State: Where are the Doctors to explain?

Why are Doctors not explaining the reality of Terri Schiavo?
The reality is...Terry hasn't been with us for 15 years.

Now Doctors are explaing what PVS means, after the whole country has been traumatized by Terri's Parents' unwillingness to let Terri go.

Update: Terri speaks without a speech center. I'm starting to feel like the parents are using all of us for Terri's bulimia(she ate and vomited), which started the problem.

Now society is blamed for Terri's eating disorder.

Update: How could Terri's Bulimia induced-Brain damage precipitate the future desolution of law and order? Read this essay and find out!

Update: The Debate: Who is Terri Schiavo?

Update(2/26): Careful people, there's more going on besides Schiavo's status... "It's a terrible, extra obstacle to put in front of a family. ... Everything is about Schiavo."

Iraq the Quagmire

Financial Times is reporting that something is happening in the 'New Vietnam' and the Democrats won't be happy. It looks like it will be the bloody Terrorists of Iraq who need to"seek exit strategy". Can you say 'Uncle'? Many of Iraq's predominantly Sunni Arab insurgents would lay down their arms and join the political process in exchange for guarantees of their safety and that of their co-religionists, according to a prominent Sunni politician.

And what is the reason for Terrorists sudden change of heart?Sharif Ali said the success of Iraq's elections dealt the insurgents a demoralising blow, prompting them to consider the need to enter the political process.

Looks like the terrorists and the Democrats are in the same boat...looking a way to save face and re-enter the political process.

Ah...There it is!

Now that the media war on terror is officially over in Iraq,--Terrorism is a media war, you know--It's time to turn our attention to Iran, Syria, North Korea and Lebanon. I wonder what the MSM and the Democratic Party will do next to betray us into the hands of Islamic Terrorists. Don't worry they'll think of something.

Iraqi Commandos kill 85 Terrorists.

Joe Iraqi fights back.

First let's destroy the terrorists in Iraq, and then let's destroy the MSM.

GOP's Winning Strategy Gets Black Vote

Finally, the Republicans are using classic strategy and attacking Democrats where they live. The Strategy is to use two major wedge issues(homosexual marriage and abortion)to separate blacks from the Democratic Party. With most African-Americans identifying as churchgoers, some pastors say a new emphasis on "family values," especially opposition to same-sex marriage, is responsible for the shift. Bishop Harry Jackson, a Maryland pastor and registered Democrat, who voted against Bush in 2000 but supported him last year, is leading an effort called the "Black Contract With America on Moral Values." The contract includes pledges to "protect marriages" and "eliminate abortion."

And if anyone doubts the effectiveness this strategy, read this statement by Donna Brazile, Al Gore's Campaign Chairman:"Democrats should stop ignoring that Republicans are going after their most loyal base," Brazile tells U.S. News, adding that Democrats "…

Ashley Smith's Testimony

This is from the transcript of Ashley Smith's testimony when she met with reporters in her lawyer's office on Sunday, March 13:

It was about 2 o'clock in the morning. I was at--I was leaving my apartment to go to the store. I noticed a blue truck in the parking lot with a man in it pulling up. And he parked in the parking space. And I really didn't think too much about it because I just moved into that apartment, you know, two days prior. So I thought maybe he was a neighbor coming home or something.

So I left and went to the store. And I came back to my apartment about five minutes later. And the truck was still there. And he was still in it. . . . And I kind of got a little worried then. I thought there's somebody still in that truck. So I got my key to my house ready. And I opened up my car door, and I got out and shut it. And I heard his shut right behind me. I started walking to my door, and I felt really, you know, scared. . . .

I started to scream, …

Peggy Noonan's Commentary on Ashley Smith's Heroism

Peggy Noonan ask the question, "What happened in that apartment that led killer Brian Nichols to give himself up peaceably to Ashley Smith?"Ashley Smith and Brian Nichols were together for seven hours. This is Nichols's mug shot. This is Nichols's face after he gave himself up to police Saturday.

Something changed.

Something happened.
Answer: They had Church.

Pay the lady, Mr. Governor!

The state of Georgia offered $60,000 to anyone who gave information which led to the arrest of Brian Nichols. Now that Ashley Smith did exactly that, why is the State of Georgia so slow to pay her reward?

The third day of Ashley Smith's dramatically changed life brought the promise of at least part of the $60,000 offered for what she did Saturday: lead law enforcement to the capture of Brian G. Nichols, who allegedly shot four people, held her hostage at her apartment in Duluth then let her go.

Gov. Sonny Perdue has asked the state's Office of Personnel and Budget to cut a $10,000 check for Smith.

The governor has suggested that the other law enforcement agencies and organizations that made pledges to the reward fund follow the state's lead. Read more

Ms. Smith deserves our gratitude for ending the killing spree, not your weak suggestions that the other agencies pay up. Show some gratitude and pay the lady, Mr. Governor!

Where are all the heroes?

They keep their mouths shut if they know what's good for them. It has become standard operating procedure to lift up our heroes and then to tear them down. So I am not too surprised at how the media is attempting to castigate Ashley Smith for her exceptional handling of Brian Nichols which saved her life and the lives of many others.

I am, however, surprised that it took only two days before the media onslaught.

It appears that many in the media are suspicious of Ms. Smith's method of disarming Brian Nichols because she did not display the appropriate anger toward him for his murderous rampage. However a cursory review of negotiation 101 validates that Ms. Smith did a expert job without any formal training. Go figure!

Update: The media's beginning to soften on Ms. Smith

Pres. Bush is Right!

It's becoming evident to the MSM that Pres. Bush's strategy of attacking Islamic Terrorism by attacking the tyrannies propped up by Arab nationalism is working."Was Bush right after all?" This was the headline of the British newspaper The Independent last Tuesday. The fact that The Independent devoted its entire front page to the issue is significant because, two years ago, this left-of-center tabloid was the most vociferous opponent of the war to liberate Iraq. But The Independent is only joining a queue of other opponents of Iraq's liberation to wonder whether or not the toppling of Saddam Hussein may have given democratic forces in the Middle East a historic chance.

Wait until the MSM realizes that what guided the administration's offensive on Islamic Terrorism was Bush's impeccable analysis as to the cause of the terrorism problem which is : the status quo that the US had defended in the Middle East for almost 60 years, had produced a new and unusual s…

Back to Baghdad

Dan Senor is back in Baghdad for the first time since he the interim Iraqi government was given its sovereignty and this is he has to say about Iraq:

Meanwhile, Back in Baghdad
by Dan Senor

THE RECENT SUICIDE BOMBING in the southern Iraqi city of Al Hilla was, sadly, nothing new. Watching the news here with Iraqi friends, I thought I knew what would happen next, since it had happened often enough before I left Iraq eight months ago, when the United States handed over sovereignty to an Iraqi interim government. Then, the Iraqis standing around the bank of televisions in our offices would have turned to me, the representative American, asking why we could not get security under control.

This time, however, the same Iraqi friends ignored me and instead participated in a protest: the first Iraqi-organized mass public protest, some 2,000 strong, in the 23 months since the fall of Saddam's regime. "The Americans" were no longer an address for frustration or salvation. Welcome to p…

Osama Bin Laden: Comdemned by Muslims!

It's about time that Muslims have condemned the crimes of this man against humanity--not to mention crimes against Muslims. The sad thing is foreign Muslims had to be the first to get the ball rolling instead of American Muslims taking the lead.

Spanish Muslims issue fatwa against Osama bin Laden

I'm sure Muslims can understand the we are suspicious of the motives of Muslims worldwide, since you have been conspicuously silent in your condemnation of this killer of the innocent.

MSM Coverage of Pro-Syrian Demonstration a Sham

Once again, the MSM reports about the enemies of freedom without providing any context. If this were a US government, or political party sponsored rally, they would condemn the protest in no uncertain terms. But in the worldview of the MSM, we are the bad guys and the terrorists of the world are the noble head separators, the insurgents fighting against the imperalists. Outsiders who would impose that evil called freedom on the people of the Middle East. So telling the truth that this is a Syrian sponsored rally is out of bounds.

And now for the rest of the story:

Today's headlines:

The guardian reports: "500,000 join pro-Syria Beirut protest" Or else!

Al Jazeera reports: "Hizb Allah rally draws thousands"

CNN reports: Hezbollah rallies Lebanese to support Syria

The New York Times reports: Hezbollah Leads Huge Pro-Syrian Protest in Central Beirut

AP reports: "Thousands Answer Hezbollah Call in Beirut"

The MSM is trying to portray this sham of a prote…

Can Liberalism survive?

I've blogged about the impending death of the democratic party before after the debacle of 2004, but now it seems that their are others, like John Leo, who share my sentiments on the future of the shadow party.

I hope you enjoy the read.

Question for the day: if liberalism isn’t dead, then why are autopsies performed so regularly? In the latest examination of the much-probed cadaver, the New Republic’s editor-in-chief, Martin Peretz, recalls that John Kenneth Galbraith, in the early 1960s, pronounced American conservatism dead, citing as heavy evidence that conservatism was “bookless” or bereft of new ideas. Peretz writes, “It is liberalism that is now bookless and dying.” Liberals, he says, are not inspired by any vision of the good society; the liberal agenda consists of wanting to spend more, while conservatives want to spend less. And the lack of new ideas and the absence of influential liberal thinkers, he says, are obvious.

It is noteworthy that the party which brought us, mili…
